insel is a landscape architecture practice
Inspired by the metaphor of an island as a closed-yet-open space, insel seeks to highlight open spaces and their unique qualities, as well as their connections to broader contexts—whether ecological, aesthetic, or social.
Led by landscape architect Inês Abreu, the practice is rooted in individual exploration that evolves collectively through collaboration with experts and users of both public and private spaces. From rural to urban settings and small to large scales, insel develops projects that prioritize sustainable design and construction solutions, where minimalist gestures create long-term value.
